Letter concerning the unauthorized distribution of pirated copies of The Kid, Shoulder Arms and other First National shorts in the United Kingdom. Chaplin plans to re-edit The Kid and Shoulder Arms, adding his own music. It is not certain that First National films are copyrighted in the UK, and advertising around the release of new editions of the films produced from the original negatives would take away market value from existing pirated copies. This is the reason for the production of The Chaplin Revue.
