According to the Internal Revenue Bureau in Washington, the $1,000,000 income tax claims against Chaplin had been settled. Government lifts the liens against more than $600,000 of the comedian's New York bank funds, which will not be used to pay the alimony order since they are not subjected to the jurisdiction of the California courts.
