Orson Welles agrees to sell his story idea on Henri Desire Landru, originally conceived for Chaplin under the title of "The Lady Killer". Welles also agrees to read, criticize the script and to offer suggestions without any additional compensation. Welles will be given screen credits as: "based on an idea by Orson Welles".
