Chaplin's attorneys filed a motion to question the validity of the entire receivership proceedings. The First National Bank of Los Angeles filed an answer denying that Kono, Alfred Reeves, the Chaplin Studios Inc. or the Charles Chaplin Film Corporation have mantained or maintain a safety deposit box since the filing of the suit. Chaplin may not return to Los Angeles for a month; he will stay in New York to work on the cutting and titling of "The Circus".
