Correspondence and legal documentation regarding the unauthorized distribution of pirated copies of The Kid by D.U.K. Films, represented by E. J. Fancey. All First National films ("The Million Dollar Chaplins") are included in the lawsuit. Since there is no moral right in the UK, attempts are being made to rebuild the chain of film rights, including research on William Vogel Productions, which owned the foreign distribution rights. The dossier includes correspondence on the synopses of the films published in the United Kingdom, which attest to their authorship. D.U.K. Films is suing Chaplin for defamation because of some statements he made about the distribution of altered versions of his films.
