Writ Prohibiting Alimony to Mrs. Chaplin Upheld - ECCI00011540

The three applications for writs of prohibition filed by Chaplin's attorneys were denied. Chaplin seeks to restrain receivers from interfering with all his properties. His attorneys filed a notice to question the validity of the entire receivership proceedings. Lita Grey was awarded $4000 a month temporary alimony by the court pending outcome of her divorce suit, but has been unable to collect a penny owing to legal technicalities raised by Chaplin and to claims on Chaplin property filed by federal tax authorities.
