Warner inherited from First National the distribution rights granted to them by Chaplin for five years from the date of each film’s respective releases. As for The Kid, the license term was six years from the date of release in each country. First National granted Vogel some overseas distribution rights. There is attached a letter from Vogel that informs that the negative of The Kid was destroyed in a fire and he asks for a new copy for distribution in Russia.
