If the court so decides, Lita Grey may be awarded all of Chaplin's property, valued $10,000,000. The California law entitles a wife to one-half of the community property that has occurred after the marriage. Both of Chaplin's pictures "The Gold Rush" and "The Circus" may be regarded as community property.
