Reports of a $1,000,000 cash settlement "peace pact" in the marital war of the Chaplins. A number of actresses mentioned but left unnamed in the divorce complaint are said to have used their "pull" to quiet the controversy and prevent further revelations. The three applications for writs of prohibition filed by the Chaplin attorneys were denied.
