Requiring a number of assorted dogs for his production for the First National Exhibitor's circuit, Charlie enlisted the aid of the Los Angeles pound. The response was twenty-one dogs. Charlie has become intensely attached to each and every one of them. But now the residents in the neighbourhood of the Chaplin studio are complaining of the constant barking of the dogs. The authorities declared that Chaplin cannot have more than twelve dogs on his place permanently.
